Well let's see now...Wrappin About Reptiles is one boys interest, turned one
teenagers passion, turned one mans obsession, turned life long career. At it's
simplest, Wrappin About Reptiles gives the public of all ages a chance to see reptiles
up close and personal, and to be educated about
them. To see why they are important to
the ecosystem and why we should not fear;
but respect them. Our overall goal is to
help protect and save reptiles so that future
generations will be able to see and appreciate
them.
Dean Harper started Wrappin About Reptiles by accident really. While sitting on the front step of his home with one of his large Boa constrictors, Deans neighbor, a school teacher, saw this and asked if Dean would come to his school and "show and tell ". Dean was thrilled and of course said yes, at the end of the show he was given a small gift, a overwhelming applause and a nominal fee. This inspired Dean to start Wrappin About Reptiles so in 1995 Dean went from the "The Reptile Guy" to one of Canada's top live reptile shows known today as WRAPPIN ABOUT REPTILES.
Not to long after James Barbas joined up with
Dean and together have with a not so small diverse family of reptiles and
amphibians. Have started a mission to educate the public on these
misunderstood creatures and the myths that follow them. Deans collection
has now grown to over 150 reptiles and with James collection his of reptiles
they now have over 200 reptiles and amphibians. Also a large variety of
Arachnids large and small. They are always adding more and one day hope to have
one of the largest collections in Canada.

Hi,
Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Dean Harper, and as you have read above I am a little reptile crazy. Growing up all I would hear is EWW that's gross or Why do you like reptiles their disgusting. That didn't stop me, it only made me more determined to study and understand these beautiful creatures, so I could help people with their very out dated views about them. I hope you enjoy our site we are always changing things around here, so stop back time from time and see what's new. If I can help just one person to see the usefulness and beauty in a reptile then I have succeeded.
