SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS

Watch Dean, James and Maureen as they take you on a reptile adventure through the African desert to the South American rainforest. Everyone of these shows is highly educational, very entertaining and jam packed with reptiles from all over the world.

Wrappin About Reptiles is a hands-on educational organization that informs the public in a very entertaining atmosphere about reptiles and their benefits to nature. In our travels we have visited thousands of children and adults alike across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan with an overwhelming response. We talk about the benefits of reptiles, their loss of habitat, and endangered species, some of which we bring to the shows. Most importantly, we discuss the conservation of not only reptiles but of all wildlife.

Wrappin About Reptiles got it's start back in 1995 when we were known simply as "The Reptile Guys".

Dean Harper started his company with a small but diverse family of reptiles and amphibians and a mission to educate the public on these misunderstood creatures and the myths that follow them. His collection of reptiles has now grown to well over 150 reptiles in addition to other exotics.

James Barbas joined shortly after Dean got started , and along with his vast knowledge and his growing collection or reptiles we now have well over  200 reptiles to choose from.

We are always adding more to our family and one day hope to have one of the biggest collections in North America.

Some of our educational Tools

Aside from the live reptiles in our shows we also have many items on loan to us from Environment Canada. These are items that have been smuggled into Canada on purpose or by unsuspecting travelers. We are one of the few non-government companies to have the privilege to display and talk about these items.

THE FUTURE OF ALL WILDLIFE INCLUDING REPTILES IS THROUGH EDUCATION!

WE ARE COVERED BY 2 MILLION IN LIABILITY INSURANCE.

Our staff have all had criminal background checks and been cleared to work with children

Our requirements are simple:
*Show us where to set up and bring the kids to us.
*Gymnasiums or Libraries work best.
*We do full or half day shows.

* we do not charge mileage *

When doing school shows we can bring indigenous reptiles and amphibians relating to your class/grade science study/life sciences e.g.. Wetland or pond ecosystems. We cover all grades and modify our programs to suite them accordingly. The children get an opportunity to handle and pet these misunderstood links to a prehistoric time. The children are also encouraged to bring cameras with them.

We have a "reptile quiz" that we can leave with the teachers if requested.

We were monthly regulars on ITV's Noon Express Show and have now been part of their new evening prime time show "After Hours".
Plus several appearances on:

ACCESS Network
A-Channel (Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg)
Radio 7 - CKRD
The Pet Guys TV show

We have also been featured at other venues like:

Red Deer Westerner Days
Youth festivals
Medicine Hats' Spectrum Days
Parkland Mall / Red Deer
Boitanio Mall / B.C.

Wrappin About Reptiles has it's reptiles vet inspected 1-2 times per year to insure they are in the best health possible. Because our reptiles are in such excellent condition in June of 1998 Walt Disney Productions asked us to be involved in their production of "Noah" starring televisions Tony Danza. Since then we've become involved in various other Movie and TV projects such as:

Caitlin's Way
Shanghai Noon - with Jackie Chan
Viva Los Nowhere - with Daniel Stern and James Caan
Myth Quest - series on Showcase
Roughing It - Hallmark mini series spring 2002

We always bring some of the reptiles to our shows that have most recently been used in a film project.

Several educators have told us that we are one of the best educational shows that they have ever seen.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions as well as rate information and availability.
We can usually work within your budget.
